SPHS Band Floozie Competes in Battle of the Bands

Severna Park students will play live along with 11 other high school bands this Saturday.

The 15th annual Anne Arundel County Battle of the Bands competition is set to kick off Saturday night at Maryland Hall. 

The Capital Gazette recently provided profiles on each of the 12 bands performing, of which 11 will be in competition for the best of show. The winner of the competition will get studio time to record one of their songs professionally in Studio A of Wright Way Studios. Proceeds from the event going to the music departments of the top four bands.

Severna Park High School student-led band Floozie will be among the bands in competition for the top spot. Floozie is composed of Will Snow, Chase McConnell, and Mason Ray—all 16 years old.

The following bands are set to perform Saturday:

  • Keyboard Comrade, of Broadneck High School (exhibition only)
  • N/A, of Annapolis High School
  • Laughter, of Arundel High
  • Epic 4 Nothing, of Broadneck High School
  • Bleu, of Meade High School
  • Davey Jones and the Sailors of Funk, of Severn School
  • Floozie, of Severna Park High School
  • August in One, of South River High School
  • Venus Corps, of Southern High School
  • Crash 57, of Southern High School
  • Five Seconds to Freedom, of Archbishop Spalding High School
  • Medora, of Archbishop Spalding High School
