UPDATE: School Closing, Delay Info in Anne Arundel County

There's a 100 percent chance of snow Tuesday.

By Greg Hambrick and Jenni Pompi

Updated, 8:45 p.m.: With weather forecasts predicting a 100 percent chance of snow Tuesday—up to 5 or more inches—Anne Arundel schools have decided to turn this three-day weekend into four days off for the kids.

AACPS will be closed for students Tuesday, Jan. 21, due to the forecasted inclement weather. A Code Blue with liberal leave is in effect for employees. The weather forecast in Anne Arundel calls for snow and temperatures falling into the teens.

This closure will impact the currently scheduled days off that AACPS has next Monday and Tuesday. High school students are scheduled to take four days worth of exams between Jan. 21-24. Schedules will change to accommodate Tuesday's closure.

If snow is to start at 7am, why wait until 4:50am to make decisions, when clearly there is snow expected. OF COURSE, the crews at 3:30 won't see anything. So what if the AACPS schedule needs to change, the last week of school are half days anyway - change them to full days!
