PHOTOS: SPHS Students Host Plunge Celebration

Despite the event being canceled, students at Severna Park High celebrated the Polar Bear Plunge in style on Friday.

Students at Severna Park High School (SPHS) didn't let a little snow and ice put too much of a damper on their Polar Bear Plunge festivities.

Despite Anne Arundel County's plunge day being canceled due to weather, SPHS students hosted their own celebration at the school on Friday.

After hearing the event was canceled Friday morning, school resource officer Alex Swartz went to Sandy Point State Park and picked up the sweatshirts for the students and WaWa donated lunch so they could have a "plunge party" in the cafeteria.
