Local Students Make Dean's List

Patch often gets word of how some local students are doing in their studies at college.

What follows is a list of graduates who have made the dean's list for the fall semester at their colleges based on their high-scoring GPAs.

Grove City College

Monica Godfrey, a junior English major at Grove City College, has been named to the Dean's List with Distinction for the fall 2011 semester. Monica is a 2009 graduate of Rockbridge Academy and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Godfrey from Severna Park, MD.

Saint Joseph's University

Caroline Menendez of Severna Park earned Dean's List honors at Saint Joseph's University for the Fall 2011 semester, Menendez is majoring in Psychology at the University. Students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above, a B or greater in all their classes, and complete at least 15 credits to earn Dean's List status for a semester.

Frostburg State University

The following students from the area have been named to the dean's list at Frostburg State University in recognition of outstanding academic achievement for the fall 2011 semester. To be eligible, a student must undertake a minimum of 12 credit hours and earn a cumulative semester grade point average of at least 3.4 on a 4.0 scale.

• Annette De Capite from Severna Park, MD, with the distinction of a 4.0 grade point average.

• Shelby Hohman from Severna Park, MD.

• Aaron Littlejohn from Severna Park, MD.

• Brooke Macklin from Severna Park, MD.
