Kindergarten Registration Starts This Week at County Schools

Kindergarten registration begins this week for Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools kindergarten registration for the 2014-2015 school year will be held at county elementary schools beginning Tuesday April 8, according to a news release.

Registration must be done in person at the school in which the child will be enrolled. 

Children enrolling in kindergarten must be 5 years old by September 1, 2014. The following documents are required when registering a child for kindergarten:

  • the child’s original birth certificate or birth record
  • a copy of the child’s immunization record
  • two proofs of residency (rental or mortgage agreement and current utility bill)

Parents should note that Maryland’s immunization law for children entering kindergarten and seventh grade has recently been updated. All students entering kindergarten must have two varicella (chickenpox) vaccinations. Overall information about the recommended immunizations for children entering school is available here.
