Kicking It with SP Soccer's Katie Gerrity

Katie Gerrity is a senior on the Severna Park High School girls varsity soccer team.

Patch stopped by the Severna Park varsity girls soccer practice and spoke with senior Katie Gerrity about her soccer career, life at SPHS and her plans for the future.

Severna Park Patch: What was your favorite experience playing soccer at Severna Park High School?
Katie Gerrity:
Making it to states was a really good experience and it really brought the team together all through playoffs. We didn’t win, but it was a great experience and it really helped me improve.

Severna Park Patch: What athlete would you say you idolize and why?
Gerrity:
Probably Alex Morgan or Paul Scholes—they are both really confident when they play. They are calm and good leaders on the field. Even though Alex Morgan is really young she is still a good leader.

Gerrity:
Go to the beach, hang out with my friends, go shopping—just normal teenage girl stuff.

Severna Park Patch: What was your favorite class that you took at Severna Park High School?
Gerrity:
Probably AP Psychology. The teacher was really interesting and made the class fun.

Severna Park Patch: What are you plans for next year?

Probably go to a four-year university, but I am not really sure where yet. I have a lot of options I just haven’t figured it out.
