Severna Park Patch
: What is your favorite Severna Park volleyball memory?
Katherine Gowland:
Last year towards the end of the season we played Delaney on their senior night. We weren’t sure if we were going to win because they were undefeated. We lost the first game. Then our coach pulled us aside and told us to play with heart and that he had faith in us that we could win the game if we focused on defense. We played so well and didn’t play with fear. And we ended up winning in five games. I played the best game of my life and I got defender of the game.

Severna Park Patch: What are your expectations for this season?
Gowland:
I definitely expect our team to go far in playoffs. We have a lot of depth and I think we will pull through with the hard games.

Severna Park Patch: What other groups or activities do you participate in at Severna Park High School?
Gowland:
I am in National Honor Society and Leadership Institute. I am also a yearbook photo editor, bocce ball manager and I am in Spanish National Honor Society
