Falcons Soccer, Volleyball Record Wins Tuesday

The Severna Park High School girls volleyball team defeated Glen Burnie to remain undefeated.

The Falcons' volleyball team (7-0) took another step towards an undefeated season Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Glen Burnie.

After falling to the Gophers 19-25 in the first set, Severna Park came back to win the final three 25-11, 25-16 and 25-15. The win places the Falcons at 7-0 on the season.

“I think one of our goals for this year is definitely an undefeated season,” senior Abbie Hoekstra told Patch on Sept. 25.

Soccer

The Severna Park girls and boys soccer teams were both victorious over Glen Burnie Tuesday night.

The girls won 3-1 while the boys recorded a 5-0 victory.

According to The Capital Gazette, Cole Strong, Kyle Albach, Logan Swartz, Kevin Johnson and Miseker Wingate scored goals for the boys soccer team.

Field Hockey

The Severna Park High field hockey team recorded their second loss on the season as they fell to South River 2-1 Tuesday night.

The Capital Gazette reported that the Seahawks scored the game-winning goal on a corner as time expired.

In September, Falcons coach Ann Andrews mentioned that South River would be one of the team’s toughest competitors this season.

“The competition is tough, and it has been for a number of years,” Andrews said. “South River and Broadneck have been good. So it is not like Severna Park is the oddity where they are the only powerhouse in the county.”

The Falcons only other loss this season was to Broadneck.
