“Individuals with Disabilities: Discovering the Roadmap for Services and Support”

On January 18th from 7pm - 8:30pm, the Anne Arundel Women Giving Together will present “Individuals with Disabilities: Discovering the Roadmap for Services and Support”.   This is a free event open to the public.

     According to the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities the forum "will include a discussion about the complexities of navigating the range of services and support available to individuals with intellectual, developmental and/or mental disabilities; raising awareness regarding the issue of disabilities, which can occur at any time; and identifying opportunities for giving and volunteerism in the community."

     Joanna Clarke, member of the Anne Arundel Commission on Disability Issues will be the moderator.    In addition guest speakers include:  Vicki Callahan (Executive Director, Opportunity Builders Inc.), Laura Sheehan Carr (Chair, The Arc of the Central Chesapeake Region and an AAWGT Grantee), Cathy Purple Cherry (member of the American Institute of Architects and the parent of a disabled child) and Mike Drummond (Executive Director, Arundel Lodge as well as a an AAWGT Grantee).
