Due to a forecast of heavy snow, Anne Arundel County Public Schools will be closed Tuesday.
AACPS said it will operate under "Code Blue" conditions, with liberal leave in place for employees.
Heavy snow is expected to roll into the area by mid-morning, extending through the afternoon. Between 3 and 7 inches of snow is expected, and a Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Fort Meade was closed, with only essential employees asked to report.
Most other local school systems including those in Baltimore, Prince George's and Montgomery Counties were also closed.
