Delegate Cathy Vitale (R-Severna Park) is introducing a bill Tuesday that would give law enforcement a better grip on the spread of synthetic cannabinoids, commonly called "spice." Vitale's House Bill 482 cracks down on how the substance is categorized by police, labeling it a Schedule I drug—the same category as marijuana, mescaline, and LSD.

4. Victoria's Fancy Foods Hosts Chocolate Olympics Saturday

Chocolate lovers get ready—Victoria's Fancy Foods will host its annual Chocolate Olympics on Saturday. The event features nine different contestantswho will each make a chocolate treat. Those who attend the event are given the opportunity to try the desserts and then vote for their favorite. The contestant with the most votes will be crowned the winner.

5. Four Severna Park Educators Named Teacher of the Year Semifinalists

Seventeen Anne Arundel County public educators and four private school teachers have been named semifinalists for the 2013 Anne Arundel County Teacher of the Year award. Of them, four come from Severna Park schools.
