Report Names Severna Park Man in Secret Service Scandal

CNN cited two government sources in identifying Arthur Huntington as the key figure in allegations of prostitution and heavy drinking by agents while on a trip to Colombia.

The Secret Service agent at the center of a scandal involving prostitution in Colombia has been identified as a Severna Park resident, CNN reported.

The cable news station, citing two government sources, identified the agent as Arthur Huntington. Online court records confirm that Huntington is the owner of a residence in Severna Park.

CNN said Huntington was the agent in a Colombian hotel room who allegedly had a dispute with a prostitute over payment.

Publicity over that dispute led to revelations of heavy drinking and use of prostitution by other Secret Service agents, who were in the country as President Barack Obama was visiting the city of Cartagena for the Summit of the Americas.

At least nine Secret Service agents have resigned or been fired in the wake of the scandal. CNN reported that Huntington is no longer with the Secret Service, but the circumstances of his departure are unclear.

CNN reporter Brian Todd attempted to get comment from Huntington at his home, but no one answered the door. Todd reported that most neighbors either declined to comment or said they didn't know Huntington, but he did learn that Huntington's wife ran a Bible study group in the neighborhood and that the couple have two boys.

The news comes as the Secret Service distributed new rules for conduct on trips, the Washington Post reported.

Last week, was identified as a homeowner in Annapolis.

Well, he will have a LOT more time to home school his kids now - in the art of negotiating with hookers, keeping marriage vows and helping your employer look good. All he needs to say is: "Kids, don't do what I do."

My first reaction was a gossipy sort of schadenfreude but now I feel so sad for this family. Their lives have been completely upended, in front of the world, no less.

SeaCall'n: I couldn't agree with you more. It's bad enough when a member of the family is in the public eye …such as an elected official.
