Foreclosure Suits Loom for Severna Park Delegate

'The Capital Gazette' reports that Del. Tony McConkey and his wife face two foreclosure suits.

Del. Tony McConkey (R-District 33A) and his wife are facing two foreclosure lawsuits on Severna Park homes, The Capital Gazette reports.

In a lawsuit filed in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court on April 10, Fire Home Mortgage Corp. alleges the pair have not repaid a $600,000 loan on a Severna Park house they have owned since 2007, according to The Capital Gazette.

In a separate lawsuit, Fremont Investment & Loan alleges McConkey and his wife defaulted on a $360,000 loan on another Severna Park property, The Capital Gazette reported.

In February, Patch reported that McConkey was publicly reprimanded by his peers after an ethics panel concluded that he stood to benefit personally from legislation.

The General Assembly's ethics committee discovered that McConkey had failed to disclose a conflict of interest in legislation he had pushed during the last session that would have allowed him to regain his real estate license, according to The Baltimore Sun.
