VIDEO: Family, Friends Gather While Officials Search for Fire Recruit, Rodney Goggins Jr.

Anne Arundel officials are involved in the search of missing fire recruit Rodney Goggins Jr., who was reported missing on Monday. Police and fire officials searched the Liberty Reservoir and its surroundings.

Friends and family members lined the street at the entrance to the Liberty Reservoir boat dock in Eldersburg Thursday. They were awaiting word on the whereabouts of , whose car was discovered on Liberty Road Wednesday.

He was reported missing by family members on Monday. According to Tosha Bundy, his girlfriend’s cousin, the last time he spoke to his girlfriend was late Sunday.

Several state, county and city officials have been searching the water and land around the reservoir.

The Maryland State Police 137th Academy Class, in week 11 of its training, was on hand to assist in a ground search, said Elena Russo, a state police spokesperson.

Other organizations assisting in the investigation included the Baltimore City Fire Department and its dive team, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department dive team, the Sykesville Freedom District Volunteer Fire Department, the Gamber & Community Fire Company dive team, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the Maryland State Police, the Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Company, the Baltimore City Office of Emergency Management and the Baltimore City Watershed Rangers.

While no further progress was made as of Thursday afternoon, officials said the search will continue.
