Sport Fit, Chesapeake Bay Therapy Evacuated for Gas Leak

Sport Fit and Chesapeake Bay Aquatic and Physical Therapy were both evacuated Tuesday morning for a gas leak.

Division Chief Keith Swindle of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said crews responded to the physical therapy office at 551 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. at 7:15 a.m. after an employee reported smelling gas. As a precautionary measure, Sport Fit was also evacuated.

Swindle said there was an exterior leak near the physical therapy office and that it did not pose a threat. Firefighters checked the scene so employees and gym-goers were allowed back inside within 30 minutes.
