Police Carry Special Olympics Torch Through Severna Park

Police officers in Anne Arundel County took part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run on Tuesday morning, taking a leg of the relay down Ritchie Highway from Glen Burnie to Annapolis.

The Special Olympics in Maryland begin on Friday, and local police are showing their support with the Law Enforcement Torch Run, which went through Anne Arundel County on Tuesday morning.

Police oficers ran through Severna Park during the event, and were spotted along Ritchie Highway.

County Executive Laura Neuman also made an appearance, to support her local police and Special Olympics participants.

"Excited to be a part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics," Neuman posted on her Facebook page.
