Police: Cab Driver Robbed, Assaulted in Severna Park

Police said they are searching for two suspects in the robbery, which occurred early Sunday morning.

Anne Arundel County police are searching for two suspects who they say assaulted and robbed a cab driver in Severna Park early Sunday morning.

According to a press release, police responded to the 600 block of Oak Lane in Severna Park at 2:15 a.m. on Sunday for a reported robbery. Police spoke to a male cab driver who said that he picked up two men at a 7-Eleven in Gambrills and then drove them to a Severna Park address.

When they arrived at the address the cab driver said a fight over the payment amount broke out, according to the release. The fight then turned physical and the driver was assaulted. During the assault, the driver’s backpack, which contained a cell phone and an undisclosed amount of money, was taken from inside the cab.

The suspects then fled the scene. Several officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

According to the release, the two suspects were described as:

  • White male in his mid-20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds with brown hair, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans
  • White male in his mid-20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, 185 pounds with blond hair, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans
