An Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman said the store was evacuated for a fire alarm and not an emergency.

Customers hoping to get some holiday shopping done at Kohl's on Thursday afternoon had a slight interruption. The store was evacuated around 1:30 p.m.

Anne Arundel County fire spokesman Lt. Keith Hamilton said shoppers were evacuated because the fire alarm was going off.

While there was not an emergency at Kohl's many people have been on edge since the shooting in Newtown, CT, on Friday.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools hosted a news conference on Wednesday to discuss rumors of school shootings in the county, which were all unfounded, according to police.

On Tuesday, students at Severna Park High School underwent an emergency drill that focused on an armed intruder in the building. However, the drill was scheduled weeks ago and was unrelated to the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

That kohls has seen a lot of action lately. Last week A car crashed into 3 others. I think the man had some sort of medical issue.
