An Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman said the store was evacuated for a fire alarm and not an emergency.

Customers hoping to get some holiday shopping done at Kohl's on Thursday afternoon had a slight interruption. The store was evacuated around 1:30 p.m.

Anne Arundel County fire spokesman Lt. Keith Hamilton said shoppers were evacuated because the fire alarm was going off.

While there was not an emergency at Kohl's many people have been on edge since the shooting in Newtown, CT, on Friday.
