Fire Destroys Severna Park Home

Fire officials said the blaze caused about $45,000 in damage.

A fire that tore through a Severna Park home under construction Saturday night destroyed the building and caused an estimated $45,000 in damage.

Just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday the Anne Arundel County 911 Center began receiving multiple calls reporting a house under construction on fire in the 500 block of Saint Martins Lane, according to a release.

Fire officials said the first arriving units reported the home "100 percent involved in fire." It took 40 firefighters 35 minutes to battle the blaze.

The building was not occupied at the time of the fire, and the cause is under investigation.

The home was destroyed and officials said the estimated damage was about $45,000. No injuries were reported.

Fire investigators request anyone with information, pictures or video—obtained prior to the arrival of the fire department—to contact the anonymous TIPS line at 410-222-TIPS.
