Earleigh Heights Station Gets $266K for New Truck
Five other county fire stations benefitted from more than $400,000 in total grant money from the state.
Six volunteer fire companies in Anne Arundel County received thousands of dollars in state grants to pay for engines, command vehicles and rescue tools.
County Executive Laura Neuman and Fire Chief Michael Cox on Tuesday presented $408,000 in grant money, including $266,500 for a New Fire Engine to the Earleigh Heights Fire Co. The money from the 508 Grant Program stems from vehicle registration fees and is allocated to fire and emergency personnel.
Other grant recipients include:
Orchard Beach VFD- $35,049 for a New Command Vehicle
Odenton VFD - $34,635 for Rescue Tools.
Riviera Beach VFD- $33,058 for a New Command Vehicle
Ferndale VFD- $33,058 for a New Command Vehicle
Arundel VFD- $5,700 for Rescue Tools
