UPDATE: Fatal Crash Victims Identified by Police

Traffic was closed in both directions on Veterans Highway while investigators combed over the scene of the wreck.

Updated (5:20 p.m.)—Police have identified the two victims killed in a Wednesday morning wreck on Veterans Highway in Millersville.

A preliminary investigation of the incident determined that while traveling south on Veterans Highway, a BMW driven by Anthony Lee Allen, of Columbia, lost control and began to rotate counter-clockwise into oncoming traffic, police said. It was then T-boned by a Chevrolet, driven by Vicki Collins, of Glen Burnie.

Allen and a passenger in his vehicle, Shane Brandon Snyder, of Columbia, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release.

Collins is in serious but stable condition at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.

Police said their investigation determined excessive speed and driver error may have contributed to the wreck.

The two victims were found at the scene of the wreck at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department Division Chief Keith Swindle.

Anne Arundel County police provided traffic support for the busy highway, and at 9:30 a.m., closed traffic on a 1.5 mile stretch of Veterans Highway—from Crain Highway to Old Mill Road. The road was reopened three hours later.
