It is interesting that more information is not available about this incident as it certainly presented a danger to the public. I was pulling out of Severn School on to Evergreen towards the Baltimore Annapolis Road when I observed a high speed chase that started on Evergreen Road in front of Severn School. The car involved was emitting strong exhaust fumes and a front tire was low on air. A state trooper patrol car was following. As the damaged vehicle approached the stop sign on Evergreen at BA Road, the trooper put on his lights to signal the driver should pull over. The driver instead took off, running the stop sign and speeding down BA towards Annapolis with state trooper in pursuit. Exhaust increased along way leaving a cloud of fumes behind and the damaged front tire blew out. The driver stopped car just before the Jones Station intersection and leapt out to escape. He left the car running with loud music blaring in middle of road. Suspect ran off in through a yard to the left. The officer pursued him by car then on foot and captured suspect who got stopped by a water filled ravine. The suspect protested loudly as he was being handcuffed. Traffic was disrupted as flames spouted from car. Several county police cars arrived and watched as the running car became engulfed in flames. Eventually a firetruck arrived and put out the car fire.
