Burglary Under Investigation

Burglary occured in Severna Park community off of Benfield and Evergreen Road.

A burglary occurred in the 600 block of Pine Tree Drive (near the intersection of Benfield and Evergreen Road) in Severna Park on March 28 between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.  According to police reports, the victim, an 87 -year-old female, reported that someone entered her home and stole jewelry overnight. 

There were signs of forced entry but since the case is still under active investigation, the police cannot release specific information on the forced entry location, said Capt. David D. Waltemeyer Jr., commander of the Eastern District Police Station.

Waltemeyer said in an e-mail to Patch that detectives are actively working on the case and there are no other similar types of cases in that area at this time.
