James Arthur Zito, the 21-year-old Millersville man who allegedly stabbed his mother and then fled the home, will go to trial on Jan. 22.

Severna Park Man Killed in Benfield Blvd. Crash
James Robert Parker, 56, of Severna Park died in a car crash on Benfield Boulevard in October. Parker was well-known and a lifelong resident of Severna Park who volunteered his time Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Crews Battle 2-Alarm Fire at M&T Bank
In August, Anne Arundel County Fire Fighters battled a two-alarm fire at M&T Bank on Ritchie Highway. More than four months later the bank remains closed. No one was injured in the fire.

'Breaking News' Site Founder Killed in 2-Car Crash
Much of Anne Arundel County was saddened to learn that Brian McDevitt, the co-founder of Anne Arundel Breaking News and Events, was killed in a crash on Fort Smallwood Road in January.

Report Names Severna Park Man in Secret Service Scandal
In April, the Secret Service agent at the center of a scandal involving prostitution in Colombia was identified as a Severna Park man. CNN, citing two government sources, identified the agent as Arthur Huntington.

Former Severna Park Pastor Arrested
A former associate pastor at St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park was arrested on Jan. 16 in Abingdon, MD, on charges of indecent exposure.

UPDATE: Police Seek Driver in Fatal I-97 Hit-and-Run
Wilmer R. Borgmann III of Millersville was killed in a hit-and-run on I-97 on Dec. 11. Police are still searching for the driver.
