Anne Arundel County Police Organize Halloween Sex Offender Detail

Anne Arundel County Police officers and detectives will work to ensure that certain registered sex offenders are not participating in any Halloween activities.

The Anne Arundel County Criminal Investigations Division Sex Offense Unit has
organized a Halloween initiative for October 31, 2011. Undercover detectives and patrol officers will conduct surveillance of certain registered sex offenders throughout the county to ensure they are not participating in any Halloween activities.

The police department will work with the Division of Parole and Probation and monitor the activities of specific registered sex offenders in the county on Halloween night. The Division of Parole and Probation has identified specific offenders on the registry who are not to participate in Halloween events. Identified offenders on the registry who violate any part of their probation will be reported to the Division of Parole and Probation for further action to be taken.

There are eight registered sex offenders living in the Severna Park zip code.

The Marylad Sex Offender Registry keeps tabs on those convicted of sex crimes, including street address, place of work and vehicles with tag numbers. The registry is not to be used to harass or commit a crime against those listed on the site, but for informational purposes only.
