Police said two people stole property from a home that was under construction and recently caught fire.

Anne Arundel County police have charged two people after they reportedly stole property from a Severna Park home that recently caught fire.

At 12:25 p.m. on Oct. 22, officers responded to a home in the 500 block of Saint Martins Lane in Severna Park to follow up on a previous theft, according to a release.

Brian Mayers, of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department’s Fire Marshal Division, was conducting a follow-up investigation in reference to a fire that broke out at the location on Saturday. The blaze caused about $40,000 in damage to a home that was under construction at the time.
