Letter to the Editor: A Survivor's Gratitude

A local breast cancer survivor expresses thankfulness to the readers of Patch.

In an article posted on Severna Park Patch, local blogger and cancer survivor Beth Kaufman strongly urged residents to donate to nearby oncology centers.

Following the article, Kaufman began to receive more and more contacts of people seriously interested in answering the call. In the weeks that followed, Kaufman was able to personally deliver donations offered by Patch readers.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to an end, Kaufman wanted to personally thank everyone who donated and helped make local cancer patients' lives a little easier—even if only for a day.

Her letter to the editor can be found below:

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you and the readers of Patch who donated books snacks and various other items to the oncology centers during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Many readers stepped up to the plate and batted home runs with this project!

The center, the patients and the doctors/nurses really appreciated all of these efforts put forth on the patients behalf! Although Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close today, please remind your readers never to forget any cancer or any cancer patient. It is with awareness that more research can be done in finding the cure!

I thank you personally for your efforts in helping spread the word and to all who read my blog and helped out, a heartfelt thank you!

Beth Kaufman
