Local World War II Veteran Among Recently Deceased

Alexander H. Schmidt, 91, of West Dennis, MA, died March 17, 2013. He had been living at Sunrise Assisted Living in Severna Park since March 2012. He was a member of the US Navy from 1942-1945, and served in all major Pacific battles during World War II. (From Barranco & Sons)

Jeri Lynn Spates (née McElroy), 54, died suddenly March 18, 2013. She was raised in Severna Park, where she lived until her death. She was a 1977 graduate of Severna Park High School, and taught at Chesapeake Bay Middle School. (From Barranco & Sons)
