SPHS Seniors Get Girl Scouts Excited About Recycling

A few Severna Park High School students hosted Recycle Day with local Girl Scouts.

Two Severna Park High students taught local Girl Scouts about recycling as part of their final senior project for the SPHS Leadership Institute.

The Leadership Institute is an innovative program that prepares students for academic and professional careers through successful decision-making.

For their project, Severna Park seniors Samantha Slattery and Erin Falvey visited a local Girl Scout troop to host a Recycle Day. The goal was to create excitement for recycling and helping the environment.

With the help of juniors, Emma Slattery, Carolyn Kotkiewicz, and Katy Bellotte, the seniors organized stations that taught the Girl Scouts about the 3 R’s, reduce, reuse, and recycle.
