Great Prostate Cancer Challenge
The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge (GPCC) 5K/1 Mile--Fun Walk to benefit ZERO- The End of Prostate Cancer takes place on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Johnny Unitas Stadium,Towson University. Funds raised during the Race are used for prostate cancer research, awareness and to conduct free prostate screenings to underprivileged and underinsured men, including 1,500 men annually in the Baltimore area. $30 Pre-Race Registration, $35 after September 5th and Race Day
Post-race activities include live entertainment; appearances by Ravens cheerleaders and retired NFL players; vendors; free food and beverages; children’s activities including face painting, a moon bounce and costumed characters. First 1,500 registrants receive a free technical t-shirt. Performance medals also given to top performers in each age group (15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over) along with top timed teams in each size category. (2-5 people, 6-10 and 11+). Team participants’ times will be averaged to compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each size category.
