Save a Life by Dining Out
Nationally, suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for teenagers. In Anne Arundel County, we are working to change that. You can help by just going out to eat! During National Suicide Prevention Week (September 8 – 14, 2013), the following restaurants have agreed to donate a portion of their proceeds to Anne Arundel County’s Youth Suicide Awareness Action Team. These dedicated volunteers from the school system, county agencies, and the community have worked diligently to raise awareness and provide suicide prevention education in Anne Arundel County. As of this date, over 18,000 people have been trained in how to recognize suicidal ideation in individuals and how to direct them toward the help they need. Proceeds from this restaurant fundraiser will be used to fund programs at Anne Arundel County high schools and other community locations.
