Karen Stevens Memorial Kids Triathlon

This recreational kid's triathlon was created in memory of Karen Stevens, a treasured member of the SPCC family. Karen was a swim instructor at SPCC Aquatics, accomplished at teaching students of all ages and ability levels. Karen was gifted at teaching those with special needs because of her kind and patient nature. During her years at SPCC, she taught many children how to be safe and enjoy the water. Sadly, Karen passed away in November 2009 after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Proceeds from the triathlon go toward funding swim lessons for underprivileged children. And new this year there is also a JR. Tri-it, a course is designed for the first time triathlete who is 8 years old and under.

Contact Pauline Maynard at 410-647-5843 or pmaynard@spcommunitycenter.org for more information. Registration can be done at the Severna Park Community Center Front Desk.
