Video: 'I Have a Dream Speech'

A Dr. King Memorial in Washington D.C. is scheduled to be completed this August.

Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered the "I Have a Dream" speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial before 250,000 people in 1963. In a country of famous speeches this is notably one of the most memorable.

The civil rights activist was born on Jan. 15, 1929 and a United States federal holiday was established in 1986.

Twenty-five years after establishing the national holiday, a memorial honoring Dr. King's life is scheduled to be completed in Washington D.C. on Aug. 28, the anniversary of the famous speech.
