Tropical Storm Andrea: Weekend Weather Forecast for Severna Park

Rain and wind associated with the path of Tropical Storm Andrea will leave Severna Park with heat and humidity.

Tropical Storm Andrea brought wind and rain across Florida Thursday, making official landfall at 5:40 p.m. Thursday evening.

As of Friday morning, the storm was dumping substantial rain across Anne Arundel County. The rain was expected to continue through the Friday evening commute.

According to The Weather Channel, Tropical Storm Andrea “will likely transition to a non-tropical remnant low at some point on Friday, however its impacts will continue as it rides up the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast coast later Friday into early Saturday.”

Rain to End Saturday, but Humidity Remains

The rain will move out of the area late Friday or very early Saturday. Saturday, clouds will dissipate and leave partly-cloudy skies, high temperatures in the 70s and humidity between 65 – 80 percent. There’s a chance of some scattered thunderstorms Saturday in the early afternoon.

Saturday evening, humidity will rise as temperatures fall—low temperatures will be in the mid-60s, but humidity will be near 90 percent.

Heat Arrives Sunday

We should wake up to sunny skies Sunday morning with rapidly rising temperatures and rapidly lowering humidity. By mid-day Sunday, temperatures will be in the upper 80s with just a 10 percent chance of rain.

There may be some scattered thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday with high temperatures in the low 80s.
