Trail closures part of county work project

Patch answers why part of the Baltimore Annapolis Trail is closed in surrounding Severna Park area.

Paul English wrote in wanting to learn more about why the Baltimore Annapolis Trail has been closed between Waterford Road and Old Jumpers Hole Road. The section has been fenced off for some time with a rather semi-permanent fence in place.

Well the short answer is that the county has been doing major construction work on the culverts in that area. The work being done, unlike other parts of the trail, is totally unrelated to BGE’s work in upgrading gaslines.

Sources at the county have told us that Construction Notice to Proceed is programmed the end of September and completion is anticipated for the end of December this year.
