Top 5: Run For Boston, Man Who Lived 'Argo' Speaks

1. Spark Running Will Host Run for Boston
Spark Running is participating in the Independent Running Retailers Association’s (IRRA) nationwide run to support the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. On Monday at 6:30 p.m., area runners can participate in Run for Boston by meeting at Spark Running for a 3-mile run through Olde Severna Park.
2. SP Man Who Lived ‘Argo' Speaks to Key School Students
Lee Schatz, the Severna Park man who lived the movie Argo, spoke to students at The Key School Thursday. Schatz said after the rescue mission was declassified, he learned it had a 50 percent chance of working, "Glad I didn’t have that information before," he joked.

A local firefighter was a few blocks away from the finish line of the Boston Marathon when he heard a blast. But instead of running away from the terror at the finish line, he ran toward the chaos to try and help.
4. School Board Passes Social Media Policy with Little Debate
The Anne Arundel County Board of Education unanimously passed a new social media policy for students and employees Wednesday night. While the policy ends the ban of some social media sites in classrooms, it also provides conduct guidelines—something Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) have not had in the past.

5. Students Learn ‘Real World’ Skills at Jones Elementary
Fourth-graders at Jones Elementary were busy Wednesday morning. They were dressed in their best attire and diligently interviewing for jobs such as mayor, reporter and CEO. The students were gaining real-world interview experience thanks to a program called Junior Achievement BizTown, which teaches students about the skills they need to land a job and survive in the workplace.
