1. Severna Park Man Arrested at Connecticut Salon
A Severna Park man was arrested in Connecticut after an attempted robbery, police said. According to Stamford Patch, James Isaac Coats, 38, of Hoyle Lane in Severna Park, entered Stamford's West Beach Tan in Connecticut on Tuesday and demanded money. When the clerk told Coats she couldn't give him any money, he left the salon.

2. Police Carry Special Olympics Torch Through Severna Park
The Special Olympics in Maryland begin on Friday, and local police are showing their support with the Law Enforcement Torch Run, which went through Severna Park on Tuesday morning.

3. Oak Hill Elementary Learns More than How to Eat Fried Worms
On May 24th, third-graders at Oak Hill Elementary participated in the assembly “How To Eat Fried Worms." After reading Thomas Rockwell’s book How To Eat Fried Worms the Oak Hill Elementary third-graders decided to give principal, Deneen Houghton and their Physical Education teacher, Chris Collins a challenge to eat fried worms!

4. Bear's Honeypot Eyes Move to Severna Park
Bear's Honeypot, the seller of local cheese and specialty products in Odenton, is planning a move into a larger space in Severna Park, and is looking to raise at least $5,000 from potential investors.

5. Severna Park High Announces Hall of Fame Inductees
The Severna Park High School Athletic Department and the Falcon Athletics Booster Club have announced the 2012 inductees into the Severna Park High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
