1. Police Charge Man in Home Burglary
Anne Arundel County police arrested and charged a Severna Park man after they say he attempted to break into an area home on New Year’s Day.

More than a month after Severna Park Middle School custodian Dovell Johnson donated a kidney to save his brother’s life, both men are doing well. Johnson, 23, donated a kidney to his brother, Rhondell Jones, on Nov. 13, and Johnson’s co-workers at Severna Park Middle School rallied around him and offered an abundance of support.

3. Victoria’s Fancy Food Seeking Chocolate Olympics Contestants
Victoria’s Fancy Foods is seeking contestants for its fourth annual Chocolate Olympics. Held the Saturday before Valentine’s Day, the event will take place on Feb. 9 and owner Victoria Stagmer is looking for contestants willing to cook up their favorite chocolate recipes.

4. Chatting with the Owner of Clement Hardware
Patch caught up with Clement Hardware owner Gordon Clement to ask him about running a business in Severna Park. Clement is well known around Severna Park for his generosity. Whether he is donating his time or supplies to assist Superstorm Sandy victims or helping local elementary students raise money Clement is always willing to help others.

5. Local Cub Scouts Honored for Service Project
Cub Scouts Pack 688 Den 6 made holiday greeting cards for soldiers in Afghanistan as part of the Severna Park Republican Women's Club's stocking project.
