1. Construction of Severna Park Chick-fil-A Underway
Construction for Severna Park’s Chick-fil-A on Ritchie Highway has begun. The former KFC building was demolished and crews have started working on building the new Chick-fil-A.

2. Appeal Denied for Dismissed Lacrosse Players
The appeal filed by three Severna Park High varsity lacrosse players who were kicked off the team after attending a house party was denied by school principal Patrick Bathras on May 3.

3. Hogwarts Express Takes Off in Kinetic Sculpture Race
The Hogwarts Express, created by five Severna Park families, took off through the streets and waters of Baltimore on May 4 for the American Visionary Art Museum's kinetic sculpture race. Jennifer Haber, whose son was one of the drivers of the Hogwarts Express, said despite a few bumps overall the race went very well.

4. Family's Golf Tournament Becomes Charity Fundraiser
Nick Crivella of Millersville organized a golf tournament with his brother in 2006 as a way for the family to spend time together before a wedding. Seven years later, that golf tournament has turned into a charity endeavor that has raised $55,000 for the Casey Cares Foundation.

After a stretch of less than nine months heading police in Anne Arundel County, Chief Larry Tolliver announced his resignation Tuesday afternoon, as the county awaits the outcome of an investigation into claims of unfair treatment within the department.
