This Week in SP: Astronaut Speaks, Band Dinner

It's a pretty busy week for Severna Park. Between free Rita's, a dinner for the Severna Park High band and a presentation from a three-time space traveler it can be hard to keep track.

Here's a rundown of events happening this week:

First Day of Spring at Rita's
The Rita’s in Severna Park will give away seven-ounce cups of Italian Ice all day Wednesday as part of an annual promotion. You could also win a $25 gift card to the Italian ice stand.

3-Time Space Traveler Will Speak to SPMS Students
Sixth-grade students at Severna Park Middle School will have an opportunity to share in an out-of-this-world experience on March 21. The school will host astronaut Don Thomas who has been on three space shuttle missions.

SPHS Band Presents a Ziti Dinner
The Severna Park High band will host a Ziti Dinner in the school cafeteria on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. Proceeds go to the Falcon band.

Spark Running Begins New 5K Training Session
The SP business is the official trainer for the Maryland Capital Arthritis 5K on May 4 at Quiet Waters Park and it's not too late to sign up.
