SP Holiday Gift Guide: Side Street Framers

Patch offers a rundown of potential gifts from Severna Park businesses for someone on your shopping list.

Looking for the perfect gift for someone on your shopping list this holiday season? Patch can help.

For the past few weeks, Severna Park Patch has been visiting local shops and business to find out what items they are offering to holiday shoppers looking to save, spend or splurge on gifts.

Today’s gift ideas come from Side Street Framers, at 558B Ritchie Highway.

The store has been located in Park Plaza for 24 years. Owner Barbara Daniels said Side Street Framers started off as a framing business and has expanded to include the work of local artists, which provide unique and thoughtful holiday gifts.

Save (Items $20 or less)

  • Donna White Jewelry ($16.96-$20)—Daniels said these earrings, bracelets rings and necklaces are very affordable and made by a Severna Park woman.
  • Décor Signs ($10.50)—These signs made by A Girl From Jersey feature cute and whimsical sayings that are great for spicing up a section of your home.
  • Severna Park Wall-Mount ($19.95)—According to Daniels these local and decorative signs are extremely popular. They feature the longitude and latitude for Severna Park and are made for Annapolis and Arnold as well.

Spend ($75 or less)

  • Maryland-Centric Painting ($32)—This paining features the Maryland flag and crab. It’s made by Arnold resident Joe Barsin and comes in posters, cards, canvases and magnets. He also has a line of local holiday posters.
  • Local Shirts from Peep Art ($34.95)—Made by Judy Norton, these local long-sleeve shirts are very popular. They are available in a variety of colors and designs.
  • Bird Bath ($50)—This item is part of the Providence Center pottery collection and made by adults with developmental disabilities. The bird bath is very cute and a great outdoor accessory.
  • Wooden Pens ($30 and up)—These handmade wooden pens are a great guy gift. Made in Harford County, the pens come in a variety of patterns and range in price.

Splurge ($80 or more)

  • Birdhouse ($190)—This birdhouse features colorful panels that would reflect beautifully in the sun. Crofton artist Ron Haritan makes this birdhouse.
  • Wee Forest Folk (vary as much as $210)—Daniels said these little decorative characters are a very popular collectors item. They have little figurines for every occasion.
