Woman Charged in Severna Park House Party

A woman who lives at the Severna Park home where 22 teens were charged with underage drinking violations now faces charges. The home was reportedly known to be a party house. Dawn M. Sellner, of the 100 block of Southway in Severna Park, was charged with contributing to the condition of a minor and disorderly house, according to online charging documents.

Dismissed Lacrosse Players Appeal Coach's Decision After House Party

Some Severna Park varsity lacrosse players, who were kicked off the team after they attended a party last month where alcohol was served, are now appealing the dismissal. The three teens—along with 19 others—were issued underage drinking citations at a March 23 house party at a Severna Park home.

Jimmy John’s Set to Open April 16 in Severna Park

Jimmy John’s, the sandwich chain that specializes in being “freaky fast” opened in Severna Park on April 16.

Severna Park Rated High in Washington Post Rankings

Severna Park High received the second-highest marks of Anne Arundel County Schools in a Washington Post ranking of schools across the country. In its ranking of schools in Maryland, Severna Park ranked 13th.

Man Guilty of Illegally Removing Trees to Improve Homeowner View of Severn River

The owner of an Edgewater tree service was convicted on three counts of violating environmental regulations for cutting down trees in Severna Park so homeowners could have a better view of the Severn River.

Breakfast Shoppe Honors Taylor Wild with Fundraiser

Before Lance Cpl. Taylor Wild left for training in California, he stopped by The Breakfast Shoppe for chicken and waffles. Now the restaurant is honoring Taylor's memory by raising funds for Friends on the Fallen.

SP Man Who Lived ‘Argo' Speaks to Key School Students

Lee Schatz, the Severna Park man who lived the movie Argo, spoke to students at The Key School in April. Schatz said after the rescue mission was declassified, he learned it had a 50 percent chance of working, "Glad I didn’t have that information before," he joked.

Spark Running Helps Local Woman Get Active

Before taking a training class at Spark Running, Michelle Ormond had never been one for running. After completing the class, Ormond ran in her first 5K in June 2012, and she didn’t stop there. On St. Patrick’s Day, Ormond ran in her first half-marathon, and she will be running in a 10K on June 1.
