Partners In Care Thanks Volunteer Members at Annual Dinner

The dinner was recently held at the Elks Lodge in Severna Park.

Partners In Care recently held its annual Recognition Dinner with 200 members and guests at the Elks Lodge in Severna Park.

The event marked the 20th year of the nonprofit organization providing services to help older adults remain independent in their homes and engaged in the community.

  • Judy Fitzgerald of Glen Burnie was named the Premier Partner for epitomizing the spirit of neighbor-helping-neighbor. Active since 2009, she has contributed her time and talent as a receptionist in the office, a match-maker to organize services for members, a volunteer driver, and more recently as a licensed driver for the new wheelchair-accessible Mobility Bus, and developer of the “Partners In Cooking” fundraising cookbook.
  • Don Gibson of Glen Burnie and co-founders Barbara Huston and Sandra Jackson of Severna Park received 20-year service pins. Ten members received ten-year pins and 18 members received five-year pins. Long-time member Jack Fisher of Annapolis, has contributed service pins since the founding of the organization.
  • Linda Dennis of Churchton, Member Care Manager, received the “Golden Hammer Award” for mentoring the Repairs With Care program in the best ways to help seniors maintain their homes. Additional honorees included Margaret Kaylor of Severna Park and Sue Freeman of Arnold for leadership in the Upscale, Resale Boutique, and Lisa Barry of Millersville for event management.  Dolores Reuter of Pasadena provided the floral centerpieces. Additional sponsors included Absolute Party Rentals and the Severna Park Elks.
