Memorial Planned for Terry Davis

The Severna Park man who died Saturday in an accident on Route 50 reportedly changed his dinner plans at the last minute, putting him on the highway heading home early in the morning.

Terry Davis, 55, of Severna Park died last Saturday after an accident on Maryland Route 50. A memorial visitation will be held for him at from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The accident occurred when three teenagers reportedly traveled down Route 50 on the wrong side and hit Davis' BMW head-on. Officials said Davis was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital and all of the teenagers died at the scene. Both drivers were intoxicated, according to in Washington.

A last-minute change in dinner plans found Davis driving to Virginia that evening, according to an article in The Capital. Davis' longtime partner, Eduardo Lara of Severna Park, recalled in the article how the two met in 1981 and said he wasn't made aware of Davis' death until the next day.

Chip Brosseau, whose mother is a neighbor of Davis and Lara, was spooked by the accident and told the reporter that the same exact incident—a head-on, wrong-way collision—took the life of a man in the early '80s on Ritchie Highway. The man had lived in the same house as the couple, according to the article.
