McDaniel College Names Stadium After SP Resident

The $8 million-plus stadium was named after Kenneth R. Gill.

McDaniel College named its new $8 million stadium after a Severna Park resident and hosted a ceremony on Saturday to honor the occasion.

The stadium was named after Kenneth R. Gill, of Severna Park, who contributed $2.25 million to the project, according to a press release from McDaniel College.

The fully equipped two-story brick and concrete multipurpose stadium supports many intercollegiate sports teams.

The groundbreaking for the new Kenneth R. Gill Stadium was held on February 3, 2012. In May 2012, the Baltimore Ravens donated $100,000 to help complete the construction of the new stadium. 

Gill is a 1961 alumnus and current member of the board of trustees.
