Many Homes and Neighborhoods in Severna Park Still in the Dark

Baltimore Gas & Electric has restored 75 percent of homes in Anne Arundel County, according to a Tuesday evening report.

More than 545,000 Customers, close to 75 percent of approximately 750,000 customers who experienced electric service interruptions as a result of Tropical Storm Irene, have had their power restored as of Tuesday evening, according to a Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) press release.

Additional linemen and support staff from Illinois-based ComEd are arriving tonight and will restore electric service to the vast majority of customers whose service is still out by Friday with some scattered outages possibly extending into Saturday, according to the news announcement.

In Severna Park, comments on the SevernaParkPatch Facebook page tell us that there are many neighborhoods, some only partially, still without power.

They are: Linstead, Severndale,Cypresspointe, Oakleigh Forest, Severna Forest, Carollton Manor, Round Bay, Robinson Station, Manhattan Beach,Severna Gardens, West and Olde Severna Park, Hollywood-on-the-Severn, Whitehurst, Fair Oaks, Kensington, Cypress Creek and neighborhoods along Old County Road. Nearby communities in Arnold were also out of power as of this afternoon.
