1.  Police: Stolen Credit Card Used at Severna Park Royal Farms
On June 21, Anne Arundel County Police asked for help identifying a person they said stole a purse from a car at Anne Arundel Community College, then used the stolen credit card at the Royal Farms in Severna Park. 

2. Community Center Marks Opening of New Fitness Center
The Severna Park Community Center (SPCC) held a ribbon cutting June 20 to unveil a new $60,000 fitness center. The center replaced the previous fitness and lounge area with new state-of-the-art equipment including an exercise machine for people in wheelchairs.

3. Mattress Warehouse Moves Out of Park Plaza
The Severna Park Mattress Warehouse has moved out of Park Plaza leaving a large vacant storefront in the Ritchie Highway shopping center. A spokesman with Mattress Warehouse said the store was temporarily closed and was planning to open a new location in the same area, but not necessarily the same storefront.

4. Breakfast Shoppe to Host ‘Taylor Wild Day’ June 29
The Breakfast Shoppe in Severna Park hosted ‘Taylor Wild Day’ on June 29, and presented a check to Friends of the Fallen in Lance Cpl. William Taylor Wild IV’s name.

5. Crib Bumper Ban Now In Effect In Maryland
A statewide ban on certain types of crib bumpers went into effect June 21 in Maryland. The ban applies to bumpers that are non-mesh and rest inside the crib directly above the mattress.
