Heat Advisory, Air Quality Alert in Effect for Anne Arundel County

It's going to feel like 100 degrees on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory at noon on Monday in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday for central Maryland, including Anne Arundel County.

During a heat advisory, children, pets and older adults are especially at risk of heat-related illnesses, said the National Weather Service (NWS).

Temperatures will be in the mid-90s, according to the NWS report, but the heat index, which takes humidity into account, will make it feel like 100. Temperatures inside vehicles could translate to 130 degrees, so the report cautions against leaving pets or children in cars.
