Going, Going, Gone -Thanks to Irene

Shelves at Severna Park hardware stores are quickly being depleted.

One picture is worth a thousand words. There's nothing left.

As the clouds roll in, emergency supplies are rolling out at area hardware stores.

Customers venturing out now are going to be very disappointed. Most supplies deemed necessary for emergency use like flashlights, batteries, downspout and gutter extensions are sold out at and store.

According to Ace Manager Donna Feuchtenberger they ran out around noon on Thursday and it was a free for all.

“I have bruises to show for it,” said Feuchtenberger.

But luckily shopper Mike Gaffney found what he was looking for.

“I have a doomsday plan just like everyone else I suppose,” he said. “These are parts for my back up generator which hasn’t been installed yet. With these I can convert it to propane.”

Over at Clement Hardware the story is about the same.

“We just got in a shipment today,” said employee Dave Murray, “but it’s already sold out.”

One Clement customer, Nancy Brandt, was in shopping for flashlights and batteries.

“I just out for an extra flashlight and most general provisions more for safety reasons,” she said. “I’m not trying to go overboard though.”

Sage advice.
