Corrections and Clarifications

A summary of corrections and clarifications in the Severna Park Patch.

We take transparency seriously. We're committed to accuracy, to acknowledging our mistakes, and to fixing them as quickly as possible. When corrections are made, an editor's note appears in italics at the bottom of the story.

We do our best to get the facts right, but sometimes even Homer nods. If you see a factual error, tell us about it and we'll make sure we get it right.

Here are our recent mistakes:

-Correction: The story titled "Former Severna Park High School Standout Playing in Connecticut was updated on 6.26.2011 to reflect the proper spelling of Alex Ramsay's name.

-Correction: The story titled Ben Oaks Swimming Hole Under Water and Closed has been updated (June 15)  to reflect that the beach and pond are private property and not open to the public. Caution tape was used, not police tape.

- Correction: The story titled Virginia McConnell of Severna Park Awarded Spirit of  Hospice Award  has been updated (April 12) to reflect that Selina Jameson is of Capital Heights and Sandra Anderson is director of communications for the Hospice of the Chesapeake.

-Correction: This story titled Author appearing April 11, 2011 has been updated  to reflect the name of the book the students were reading to coincide with Dr. Taler's visit. The correct name of the book is Number the Stars by Louis Lowry.

- Correction: The story on March 30, 2011, titled "" was removed due to an editorial decision.

- Correction: Information appearing with a Kinder Farm Park Photo Gallery on March 26, 20111 included incorrect information about membership. The club is not accepting new members and has an extensive waiting list.

- Correction: The story on Feb. 28, 2011, titled "," was updated to correct the number of adults (and pets) who escaped from the fire, as the information provided from the fire department was not accurate.

- Correction: Story from Feb.9, 2011. The story titled  ""  was removed due to multiple errors. Patch will be doing a follow-up within the next 30-60 days.

-Correction: Story from Feb. 1, 2011. The word "homeless" was removed from the headline in the story titled "." The ministry serves those in recovery from alcohol and drugs, not necessarily the homeless.

-Correction: Story from Dec. 10, 2010. An incorrect link was corrected for Fitness Club Today in the story titled "."
